Post Title: TraineeDental Nurse/Receptionist/Administrator London Dental Specialists Hours of work: 8.30-5.30pm (no overtime between 8am-6pm). 5 days per week. 1-2 planned late nights per week (Please expect these to be long days). Overtime will be repaid as time off in lieu. No overtime payments due to the current financial constraints. Dental courses occur on Saturdays (1 per month approx.). You will be required to attend the study club events and courses for your education and because they are the means by which you develop an independent relationship with our referrers (which is an essential part of your role) Period of appointment: Indefinite Employment type: Employed Salary: For trainee nurses, salary is minimum wage + a discretionary bonus that could bring your hourly rate up to £13/hr dependent to job performance. £14/hr minimum FOR QUALIFIED DENTAL NURSES. Teaching and supervision of trainee/qualified dental nurses. General practice administration: paperwork, CQC compliance, courses and referrers. We currently accept referrals for periodontics (management of periodontitis, soft tissue grafting, functional and aesthetic crown lengthening), prosthodontics (crowns, veneers and dentures), orthodontics (mainly fixed labial appliances), endodontics (root canal treatments, post/instrument removal, perforation repair) and implant dentistry (implant placement, bone grafting, full arch implants). Monitored via CRM system Key Objectives of the role · To be dentists’ assistant in ensuring that all the tasks/objectives above are delivered to the highest possible standards · Contribution to the delivery of the clinical care described above · Teaching and supervision of dental nurses particularly ensuring that HTM 01-05 and all written clinical/admin duties are carried out · Contribution to the practice administration tasks. · Provision of allthe teaching and mentoring required for excellence in the role Clinical Duties 1. Excellence in chairside assistance of all the specialists (perio/endo/ortho). 2. Excellence in disinfection and decontamination. 3. Oral hygiene instruction to include regular demonstration of techniques to patients (if you have the appropriate post-registration qualification). 4. Responsibility of the smooth running of all aspects of our surgical clinics with detailed knowledge of equipment, stock control etc 5. Design and manufacture of conventional and implant crowns/bridges 6. Adherence with all the contemporary rules and regulations laid down by statutory bodies such as GDC, CQC etc Teaching/Supervision Duties 1. Trainee/dental nurses to ensure that tasks are completed as written 2. Supervision of dental nurses Administration 1. Compliance with HTM 01-05 2. Compliance with all aspects of practice management and life 3. Compliance with policies on patient letters (email/post/signature). You must also ensure that these are sent by 6pm on the outside. 4. Audits (in conjunction with Steff): radiography, disinfection/decontamination (IPS), antibiotics etc Mentorship/Continuing Professional Development. The practice owner (Ope Sodeinde) is happy to provide all the one-on-one teaching required to provide help a new member of the team. I will provide this teaching at the end of the working day. Please be aware that I will want you to do some studying before we have the teaching session. You will not be paid for this extra time. We run study clubs for dentists and hygiene/therapists every 3 months which you are strongly encouraged to attend. They occur every 3 months and you will learn a lot from this and get CPD. I also run modular restorative courses for dentists covering various aspects of restorative dentistry. You are also welcome/required to attend these (depending on your experience). You will not pay to attend any CPD courses and you will not be paid for your time on these courses because they are CPD. At some point in the future, you will have covered all the topics and your presence at the course maybe required for the smooth running of the course.
