Job Description

We are a new state-of-the-art fully private dental practice based in Nine Elms area, where we provide all aspects of general, cosmetic and specialist dentistry.

Our dental practice provides excellent general and cosmetic dental procedures. The successful candidate will enjoy a fresh and new working environment and will become part of an expanding and growing team.

We are looking for a Trainee Dental Nurse / Receptionist to join our team to work clinically in surgery with hygienists and dentists, along with covering our reception as and when required. Please note this is a mixed role and the susseccful candidate will be required to undertake both duties.

The ideal candidate would have previous dental reception experience and must be enrolled on a dental nursing course. Please note we do not offer sponsorship for this role or accomodation.

Day to Day:

  • Assisting our amazing team of clinicians
  • Support of hygienists where required
  • Reception cover as required
  • Supporting Decontamination
  • Responsibility for infection control procedures throughout the practice
  • Stock Control as required

Nursing Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the dentist during dental procedures
  • Preparing and sterilizing dental instruments and equipment
  • Taking and developing dental x-ray
  • Providing oral hygiene instructions to patients
  • Taking impressions of patients' teeth for study models
  • Performing basic laboratory tasks such as pouring and trimming models
  • Managing patient records and maintaining a clean and organized dental office environment

Reception Responsibilties:

  • Answering calls
  • Taking payments
  • Patient Correspondence management
  • Cashing up
  • Appointment scheduling
  • Answering patient queries

Requirements:

  • Enrolled on a Dental Nurse Training Course
  • Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Proficiency in computer skills for managing patient records

Note: Previous experience as a Dental Nurse is preferred. Training will be provided for qualified candidates.

Hours

Full time or part time hours shifted over Monday to Thursday 08.30 - 18.00, Friday 08:30 - 17:30, one late night every alternate week to 19:30, and 1 Saturday per month 08.30 - 13.00. Exact hours to be confirmed on employment.

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Salary: £10.00-£12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 42.5 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Vauxhall: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Dental receptionist: 1 year (preferred)
  • Dental Nursing: 1 year (preferred)
